Carraig Cumhachta Glencolumbkille, Ireland

As part of an artist residency in northwest Ireland, the artist created Carraig Cumhachta — a land art intervention inspired by the ancient cultural landscape around Glencolumbkille. Surrounded by megaliths, pilgrimage routes, and over 5000 years of history, she discovered a striking rock formation overlooking the valley and the Atlantic Ocean. Moved by its presence — and by the visible scar left from past human impact —

she carved signs/signatures into the stone as a gesture of remembrance and reverence. The work responds to both the loss and the resilience embedded in the land.
Carraig Cumhachta now stands as a quiet site of reflection — honoring the spirit of place and inviting a renewed connection between people, history, and nature.
